We are thrilled to announce that Symplicit, in partnership with Lawlux, an AI-powered legal tech start-up, has won a prestigious Good Design Award in the Software Design category. Lawlux, in partnership with Symplicit have revolutionised access to legal services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This award recognises our shared commitment to creating impactful and user-centred designs and celebrates the innovative solution we developed.

Bridging the legal gap for SMEs.

Many SMEs struggle to access quality legal services due to prohibitive cost and high time investment required by incumbents. This forces SMEs to resort to risky, generic online templates or face lengthy delays and high fees for bespoke legal advice. Lawlux aimed to address these challenges by:

  • Eliminating the legal risks associated with using cheap, online legal templates.
  • Minimising the cost of bespoke legal services.
  • Dramatically reducing the average time (over 7 business days) to obtain legal work.
  • Building a human-AI interface that SMEs can trust with their sensitive information.
  • Providing free, 24/7 answers to legal questions using a proprietary AI Large Language Model (LLM).

A world-first AI legal platform.

Lawlux is a groundbreaking software application powered by a proprietary LLM. This LLM, built upon IBM’s WatsonX legal product workflows, has been trained using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and fine-tuning techniques. It streamlines the traditionally inefficient, human dependent middle-office, through integration of bespoke onboarding workflows and in-house document and advice generation software.

Symplicit partnered with Lawlux to identify product-market fit and design an intuitive and user-friendly interface for this innovative technology. The UI seamlessly integrates chat and form-based components to simplify navigation and user interaction. The Lawlux chat interface employs natural language processing techniques, understanding questions, syntax, and even nuance to build trust with users.

Recognition and gratitude.

We are incredibly grateful to the Good Design Australia jury for recognising our work. The jury commented:

“[Lawlux] demonstrates how design can democratise access to quality legal assistance for SMEs. The Jury praises its intuitive interface and innovative approach to reducing legal costs, showcasing how design can enhance accessibility and affordability in legal services.”

This achievement is a testament to the vision and dedication of the Lawlux team, who entrusted Symplicit as their partner in this transformative project. We also extend our sincere thanks to the entire Symplicit team for their contributions to this truly innovative piece of work.
